GentleYAG laser therapy is excellent for eliminating spider veins and small varicose veins. During treatment, controlled pulses of light are directed toward the affected veins. Over time, the veins will collapse and disappear. Unlike other methods of vein therapy, GentleYAG laser treatment requires no needles or incisions and allows patients to return to their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Our GentleYAG laser will treat small enlarged or proliferating blood vessels, varicose and spider veins that appear on the surface of the skin as splotches, dots, bulges, and spider shapes. They may range in color from red to purple or brown. Benign vascular lesions typically result when damaged valves in the vein cause blood to stagnate rather than be pumped back to the heart; the pooled blood creates stretched and protruding veins. In some locations, these veins are so tiny, even microscopic, they are not visible under normal conditions.
